Fashion and Cinema consists of a series of events, on-stage conversations, seminars and screenings exploring the relationship between fashion and cinema. By looking at specific subjects we'll see how the two sectors have always fed each other in more or less evident ways.
The first of these events (19 & 20 May 2012) was dedicated to Chanel and her relationship with film as well as with the stage.
The second event (23 & 24 February 2013) explored the collaboration between Catherine Deneuve and Yves Saint Laurent both on and off screen.
Our third event (7 & 8 September 2013) will look at the style creation of one of the most emulated and admired actresses of all times: Audrey Hepburn. Her style was not "manufactured" by a studio, unlike so many starts of the period, but carefully developed by the actress herself with French fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy.
In February 2014 we will examine the style created in Science Fiction films and futuristic styles that have revolutionised fashion with its designs and use of materials.
